Preliminary applications must include low-resolution (512x512 max) video and audio of the production—as dome originals (or dome masters), including the intro title segment. Acceptable formats include AVI, MOV, and MPG on CD or DVD. DVD-based submissions must be formatted as data (not playback) disks. The submission must fit on one CD or DVD. The submission may also include key frames at full resolution (24-bit Targas @ between 2048x2048 and 3600x3600 pixels—use multiples of 16) if you wish, but are not required.
Preliminary submissions may be inverted from the dome original format. That is, you may flip horizontally for work to read correctly on non-dome media.
A completed application form and signed use agreement form must be included with the submission.
Preliminary works will be juried and finalists announced by April 26. Two alternates will also be selected and invited to submit works for use if all finalists do not complete their submissions.
The decisions of the jury will be final.
Final Submissions
Dome ready works may be delivered
on external FireWire or USB 2.0 drives, but ultra-wide SCSI
drives are greatly preferred. LodeStar uses StorCase SCSI
racks. Please check with LodeStar to confirm compatibility.
